Soft Touch Moving and Storage is a moving and storage company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your information when you use this website or ask us for an estimate. If anything here is unclear, call us on 317-284-1900 and ask.

The short version

• We collect what we need to quote your move and turn up on the right day, nothing more.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not rent or trade it.
• We do not send marketing email to people who only asked for a quote.
• You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to delete it.

What we collect

When you request an estimate. Our quote form is provided by MoveitPro, the moving software we run the business on. When you complete it, you give us your name, contact details, the addresses you are moving between, your preferred dates, and whatever you tell us about the job itself. That information goes into MoveitPro so we can price the move and schedule a crew.

When you call or email. If you phone 317-284-1900 or email us, we keep the details of that conversation for the same reason: to quote and carry out your move.

When you simply browse. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It tells us that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world the visitor was, and what kind of device they used. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not try to work that out.

What we do with it

• Prepare your estimate and answer your questions.
• Schedule and carry out your move, including telling the crew where to go.
• Invoice you and keep the records a business is required to keep.
• Improve this website, using the traffic figures described above.

We will not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever want to send you something else, we will ask first.

Who else sees it

We share information only with the services that let us do the job, and only the part they need:

• MoveitPro, our moving software, which stores your quote and job details.
• Google Analytics, for the anonymous traffic figures described above.
• Cloudflare, which serves this website and keeps it online.
• Where a move involves a partner carrier for part of the route, the details that carrier needs to complete the leg.

We will also release information where the law requires it. Beyond that, nobody else gets it. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a cookie so that one person visiting three pages is not counted as three people. The MoveitPro quote form sets its own cookies so the form works. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, and the quote form may not remember what you typed.

How long we keep it

Quote and job records are kept for as long as we need them for the move, for our accounts, and for any period the law requires. Website traffic data is held by Google Analytics under its own retention setting. If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 317-284-1900 or email [email protected] and say what you want done. We will not charge you for asking, and we will not make it difficult.

Children

This is a moving company website. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version on this page is always the current one.
